    MCEdit version 0.1.7 is now available from the links to the left, or via automatic update. Here is a summary of the changes made since 0.1.6:

    (0.1.7.1 fixes a startup error for certain system configurations and non-English usernames.)

    • Block IDs up to 4096 are now preserved
    • Hold ALT to show full NBT tags and Item structures when mousing over a tile entity

    Candidate builds for version 0.1.7 are now available, starting with build 466. Here is a summary of the changes made since 0.1.6:

    Added:

    • Hold ALT to show full NBT tags when mousing over a tile entity
    • Names and info for blocks added in Minecraft 1.5
    • "Undo Limit" setting
    • "Record Undo" option on the main screen
    • "Copy Biomes" option for import/clone tools (.schematic file changed to have Biomes array)

    • Server-based chunk generator has basic support for Forge-equipped servers.

    New changes in 0.1.6build338

    A change was made in build 338 that may affect the way some of you use MCEdit.

    MCEdit now honors the world's "session.lock" file. This lock file ensures that only the last program to open a world has permission to modify it. Whenever anyone "acquires" the lock, it will kick the previous lock holder off of the level. What does this mean in practice? Let's look at some scenarios.

    The Road Ahead

    MCEdit v0.1.5 was recently released. Before going any further, I am bringing back development builds and putting in place a more rigid release schedule. I will also maintain a "roadmap" that shows my plans for the next several releases.

    Development builds will be automatically built and uploaded every day or two. Before being released as a "Stable" build, these builds will go through two stages: Unstable and Candidate. The Unstable stage will be when new...

    Since change logs weren't included with these releases, here is a short list of changes:

    • Fixed an AttributeError when trying to save a world.

    • Tried a second time to fix "Intel Graphics Bug". Some reports say it worked this time.
    • Fixed bug in accelerated NBT module that caused some filters to stop working in 0.1.3
